MASTER CLASS FOR CLASSICAL STUDENTS

Woodbury Strings is offering a monthly master class to it's classical and fiddle youth students free of charge to encourage sharing of skills and networking among musicians and their families. This is encouraged for all private students at Woodbury Strings from preschool - 8th grade. Teenagers and adults will be offered an evening master class every two months for the same purpose (additionally, fiddlers are offered a slow jam one Monday a month; see Slow Jam). During the master class, it should be expected that some of the students will volunteer to play all or portions of a solo piece they are working on that they plan to eventually perform at a concert. The purpose of this is to get practice performing in a comfortable setting; while other students benefit from observing the instruction, especially if they are not yet at the level of the student that is performing. For all the students, it is an opportunity to be part of a family of string students to play music, enjoy string games and learn about technique, musicianship, and musical mentoring. Due to limited space, the class if for participants only with the exception of preschoolers who may have a parent present if they feel shy. There is a parking garage above City Center which may help those who are not comfortable with simply dropping their child off at the door. Please RSVP if your child is not coming due to unavoidable conflicts. Otherwise, attendance is expected.
